The Positive Side of ADHD

Hi all,

Today is the first day of my blog. My name is Peggy Gomula and I am a PCI Certified Parent Coach®, a Screamfree leader and I have taught elementary school, and preschool and owned my own pre-school. I have also tutored children with learning difficulties for 12 years and I am a mom and wife. A mom of 3 daughters who have ADHD, a husband who has ADHD and I have ADHD. That’s right – 5 people in our household and 5 people with ADHD. I can tell you there was never a dull moment in our household. My children are now all grown, 22, 25 and 28 but I have many memories of dealing with ADHD and how frustrated I was at times. But I also loved being the mother and wife of people with ADHD because they are so much fun to be around. I have learned that it really is how you look at it. I could sit around and feel sorry for myself and be angry all of the time or I could reframe and see the wonderful children I had and how ADHD was a gift. Yes, I said – a gift. Everyone talks about the down side of ADHD and yes we had plenty of those times but I am going to be starting my blog with the gifts of ADHD. Check out my next blogs as I begin to write about the positive side of ADHD.

Have fun!
