Your Family

Your Family

I think with motherhood and child-rearing in general, everyone’s going to tell you how to do it and why. I’ve always said to other mothers and women when they’ve asked me, that you have to find your own way and find out what works for your family, at all costs.

Good Morning!

This quote might see a bit odd coming from me, a parent coach, but it has so much truth in it.  I am in total agreement with Brooke Burke,  “that you have to find your own way and find out what works for your family, at all costs.”

Every family is unique and there is no one right way to be a parent.  There are thousands of books and DVD ‘S all trying to help you be a better parent but there is one rather large problem – they don’t know you and they don’t know your family.

As a parent coach it is not my job to tell you how to be a parent.  If you read my blog you certainly know that I don’t know everything.  My job, as a parent coach, is to help you find out what works for you and your family.  My job is to support you as we both discover the way for you to be the parent you want to be.  When I was in my “witch on a broomstick” stage I dreamed of being a calm mother.  I dreamed of tackling tough decisions and even the little decisions with confidence.  I dreamed of a cooperative household where people talked and not yelled.  I just did not know how to get there. Thank goodness I found someone to help me!

So…if you are dreaming of the parent you want to be, don’t be afraid to reach out for help.  Everyone, at one time or another, needs a little help.  Be brave, realize that you are not alone and that you do not have to go through this alone.   I urge you to look and to find the person that will help make your dream come true. I did, my dream came true and I have been forever grateful – to myself for taking that first step and to the person who helped me accomplish my dream.

Have some fun today!
